The Middle Fork of the Salmon River is 112 miles through the secluded Frank Church Wilderness of No Return in the northwestern United States.  This tributary of the Snake River drops 4,000 feet through 2,500 square miles of rugged terrain peakaing as high as 10,000 feet.
